This site is intended to educate, inspire, occasionally amuse, and provide a place to find out about whiskies, with a special focus on American whiskies and craft distillers. It is my intent to provide information on true whiskey bars, the bartenders and mixologists behind them, the distilleries making it, and promoting home and hobby distilling.
This is also a place for you to exchange ideas, contribute names of whiskey bars and distilleries to explore, what you are enjoying these days and anything else on the subject.
Let’s make and keep this a fun and light-hearted place; after all nobody ever grabbed a bottle of the good stuff to increase their stress level.

Mr. Whiskey (a.k.a. Dan Dinan), has been a lover of whiskey and other fine beverages for over 30 years. He has a 40 year background in the restaurant and bar industry and currently is involved in the following:

Additionally he is independently working towards his Cicerone certification, trying his hand at home brewing and anxiously waiting for home distilling to become legalized so he can fire up a still legally.
The Boys in the Rickhouse.
The boys in the rickhouse will make appearances as Mr. Whiskey feels appropriate and inspired. They are actually just figments of his imagination, mostly, with some occasional use for artistic or editorial license. Any likeness to to anyone, living, dead or even Mr. Whiskey himself is purely unintentional, and not intended to harm, but merely to amuse. So laugh at their contributions so that they stay on line and don’t cause trouble or worse yet burn down the rickhouse.
