The Auld Dubliner
2497 Park Avenue in “The District”
Tustin, CA 94782
At first sight, The Auld Dubliner, in Tustin’s “The District” center, looks like your fairly typical Irish bar. Lots of traditional dark wood, bar height tables in the dining room, and plenty of the requisite Irish flags and bric-a-brac. That is until you look more closely at the back-bar and realize that this is not your typical collection of whiskies. Deep high end selections of rare Irish and Scotch whiskies and 30+ Bourbons and American Whiskies. They are currently offering more than 75 different whiskies at the bar and have a staff that is not intimidated by that depth.
It’s not every day that you can find a nice dram of Macallan’s 12-year-old and Redbreast 12-year-old Cask Strength along with 5 different expressions of Jameson’s and Bushmills in a neighborhood-style Irish pub. This, in conjunction with 35 taps of craft beers and more in bottles, provides a truly excellent selection of libations to compliment the diverse, quality food offerings.
In addition to the fine food, drink, and atmosphere, there are televisions all around, you will find all the major soccer games showing, and they are an official New England Patriots game watch site (which is enough to get you onto most any list this Boston native is involved with).
“You can’t call it drinking all day, if you don’t start in the morning.”– The back of a staff shirt at The Auld Dubliner.
